True Aspect

Cookie Policy

Effective date: 7 October 2026

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks a browser to store and then sends back on later visits, which lets the site recognise the same browser over time. Similar technologies do comparable things by other means: web storage keeps data in the browser under the site's name, tracking pixels report that a page was loaded by requesting a tiny image from another server, and fingerprinting identifies a browser from the combination of settings and capabilities it reveals rather than from anything stored.

Does this site use cookies?

No. True Aspect sets no cookies of its own, and no third party sets cookies through it. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising or retargeting cookies, no session identifiers, no preference cookies and no social or video embeds that would set any. Nobody is counting visitors here.

Then why is there no cookie banner?

Because there would be nothing to consent to. A consent banner exists to obtain permission before non-essential cookies are set. This site sets none, so a banner would ask a reader to agree to something that is not happening — which would be untrue, and would train people to dismiss notices that matter elsewhere. The absence of a banner here is a consequence of the design, not an oversight.

What does happen when a page is loaded?

The browser asks our hosting provider's server for the page, and the server records a line in its access log: the IP address, the date and time, the URL requested, the referring page if the browser sends one, and the user-agent string. Those logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted. They are used for security, abuse prevention and fault diagnosis. The Privacy Policy describes them in full.

Nothing else happens. The pages load their stylesheet, their script and their icon from this site alone. No font, script, image, video, map or file is requested from any other server, which means that reading an entry here causes the browser to contact no server besides the one serving this site.

Is anything stored in my browser?

No. True Aspect uses no localStorage, no sessionStorage and no IndexedDB. It sets no tracking pixels and makes no attempt at fingerprinting. The only script on the site opens and closes the reference list on narrow screens; it reads nothing, stores nothing and sends nothing. It is unminified and can be read at /assets/site.js.

What about after I click a link to another site?

That is a different matter, and worth being clear about. Some entries carry paid affiliate links to the Norton AntiVirus Plus website. Following one leaves trueaspect.online. On arrival, that site and the affiliate network that operates the link may set their own cookies on their own domains, typically to record where the referral came from. Those cookies are theirs, not ours; KLIMA Z.A.I., s.r.o. does not control them, cannot read them and does not set them.

Readers who want to know what is set on those sites should read the privacy and cookie notices published there. The same applies to the official Australian bodies linked from entries on this site.

How do I block or clear cookies anyway?

Every current browser allows cookies to be cleared and blocked, and the controls live in the browser's own settings under a heading referring to privacy, site data or content settings. In general terms, a browser will offer some combination of: clearing stored data for all sites or for one named site; blocking third-party cookies while allowing first-party ones; blocking all cookies; and clearing everything automatically when the browser closes. Private or incognito windows discard what they store when closed.

Exact menu names and positions differ between browsers and change between versions, so they are not set out here — a description that is wrong is less useful than none. Each browser publishes current instructions in its own help pages. Blocking cookies entirely will break sign-in on sites that need them; it will have no effect on True Aspect, which does not use them.

What if this changes?

If cookies or any similar technology are ever introduced to this site, this page will be updated to describe exactly what is set and why, and a working consent mechanism will be in place before any non-essential cookie is set — not afterwards. The effective date above will change at the same time.
